WHERE: Skyline Grange, 11275 NW Skyline Blvd.
DETAILS: Taught by renown Chef Hiroji Obayashi. Chef Hiro will demonstrate the basics and
the culture of Japanese cooking. Participants will observe as he prepares, enjoy the prepared
foods together, and take home recipes. (For more about Chef Hiro, google the documentary
“Hiro’s Table”.)
REGISTRATION REQUIRED: Class size is limited. Cost is $60 for the series. Register at

CLASSES:
6/1 Class 1:
Rice & miso soup. Hiro will show how to cook Japanese rice and miso soup using Dashi from
the scratch. No instant powder dash will be used. When they are served to participants, he will
also serve a small prepared main dish which goes well with rice and soup to enjoy.
6/8 Class 2:
Teriyaki Salmon or chicken (to be determined) and seasonal vegetables cooked with dash soup.
Rice will also be served with these dishes to the participants.
6/15 Class 3:
Typical home-eaten dish (to be determined) in addition to Agedashi tofu.
NOTE:
Classes will take place in the kitchen on the lower
level. This area is accessible only by stairs.
