Skyline Ridge Fire-Ready Workshop (we’re the venue and a sponsor!)
Join us on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. This FREE workshop is designed for folks living in our higher-risk, rural, forested areas. You’ll hear from local experts on simple, practical ways to help your family and your home make it through a wildfire, and how to keep your forest healthier and more resilient. You’ll rotate through 3 hands-on sessions: Your Home Can Survive a Wildfire, Plan Your Escape, and Sustain a Resilient Landscape. The workshop is presented by West Multnomah SWCD, Skyline Grange #984, Oregon State Fire Marshal, Portland Fire & Rescue, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, and Multnomah County Office of Emergency Management. Native Species Planting Party
On Sunday, October 11, 2026 and Sunday, November 8, 2026, starting at 9 a.m. Learn about native plants and how to plant them. We will be planting a fire-resistant vegetation at the front plaza, larger-sized oaks, native meadow, and pollinator hedgerows. We are working with West Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District, Xerces, and Stormwater Stars. These plantings will not only enliven the space with native flowers, but it will also reduce the water runoff that makes the lower lawn a muddy field in the winter and spring.
