Preserving Vegetables by Pickling

Saturday, August 8, 2026 2-5 pm

In this hands-on workshop, Betsy Walton will teach how to transform gherkin cucumbers into tasty pickles.

Betsy is a Skyline area resident, local pickle maker, an OSU Master Food Preserver volunteer, and is owner of “Our Favorite Foods LLC”, dba Duker’s Dills.

You will go home with a jar of pickles that you made, knowledge of how to pickle other kinds of vegetables, and the understanding of the science behind this pickling process to ensure a high-quality, safe product that you can confidently enjoy and share with others. These make great gifts.
